John has been a Labour Party member for more than 40 years and has previously, and currently, serves as a Camborne Town Councillor. He was also a Kerrier District Councillor.  In 1987 and 1992 he was privileged to be the Party’s parliamentary candidate for the constituency of Falmouth-Camborne.

John believes passionately in strong public services. Everyone has a right to free health care, to a decent home, to good schools for our children, to a chance to work at a fair wage and to be looked after when they are too young, too ill, too infirm or too old to look after themselves. Without compromising these principles our country should be leading the way in caring for the environment and developing policies for a greener, cleaner future while helping the poorer nations of the world to develop.
